- Of course, these are potentially harmful to human beings. (Many pesticides were approved before science found them to be the cause of cancers and other diseases)
- Let’s treat the soil in order for future generations to grow healthy produce.

Most of us wouldn’t even consider accepting an unknown medicine for a pain we have, not even from a good friend.
Not knowing what kind of chemicals we put into our body seems to scare us, the ‘unknown’ is frightening and we do know that synthetics are not good.
Why treat food differently, why do we differentiate and allow ourselves to eat products which are potentially full of the chemicals used in fertilisers and pesticides in modern farming.
For the vast majority of human history, agriculture can be described as organic; only during the 20th century has a large supply of new synthetic chemicals been introduced to the food supply.

In the rush to produce more crops to satisfy growing demand producers have had to resort to using a lethal cocktail of pesticides to control disease and insect attack.
Whilst such mass production has to an extent enabled food producers to meet the demands of an ever-growing population, it has also led to the degradation of food quality and, ultimately, the health of the consumer.
Did you know that if you consumed an average apple you would be eating over 30 pesticides, even after you have washed it?
The quality of food has definitely gone down since the second world war. For instance, the levels of vitamin C in today’s fruit bear no resemblance to the levels found in wartime fruit.
You will have to eat more fruit nowadays to make up the deficiency, but unfortunately, that means eating more chemicals, more detrimental affects on your health eating something that should be good for you!
Organic food is known to contain 50% more nutrients, minerals and vitamins than produce that has been intensively farmed.
Also, don’t forget about the cocktail of anti-biotics and hormones that cattle and poultry are force fed.
What happens to those chemicals when the animal dies? Digested and stored in human bodies is the answer.
